The Type 20 - Our heritage infused with our future
The Type 20 was built to inspire. A 1962 VW Type 2 converted to battery-electric powertrain, and equipped with speech interaction, facial recognition, holographic 3D interfaces, cutting edge audio, integrated micro-vehicles, and generative designed components.
Generative design in action
Together with Autodesk, we’ve equipped Type 20 with generative-designed wheels, achieving a weight reduction of nearly 20%. The wheels are cast aluminum alloy.
